Practical information
Fees and funding
For consultation fees or questions about ACC, insurance or self-funded care, please contact the clinic. Funding approval depends on your claim or policy and the treatment being considered, and is not guaranteed.
How do I pay for my treatment?
ACC hip and knee claims
The clinic can help arrange appointments for ACC-covered hip and knee injuries. There is no surcharge for consultations funded by ACC. Please have your claim number, date of injury and any relevant ACC correspondence available.
Funding for consultations, imaging or treatment depends on the covered injury, ACC requirements and any approval needed. An ACC claim does not automatically approve every treatment.
Andy is a Careway provider. If you have a Careway referral, please let the clinic know when arranging your appointment. Eligibility and treatment approval depend on the programme’s criteria.

Private health insurance
Every insurance policy is different. Before your appointment or treatment, check with your insurer what is covered or excluded, your benefit limits, any excess or co-payment, and whether pre-approval is needed.
Andy can often submit a claim on your behalf, depending on your policy, insurer and the service involved. Please ask the clinic what can be arranged; cover is not guaranteed and you will need to pay any costs your insurer does not cover.

Self-funded care
Some patients choose to pay for their appointments or treatment themselves. Please contact the clinic to confirm consultation fees and ask for an estimate before proceeding with treatment.
For surgery, ask about the specialist, anaesthetist and hospital costs, and check who will invoice you. These may be billed separately; confirm any payment required before your procedure with the relevant provider.
Public hospital care
Public hospital care may be more appropriate in some circumstances. Andy can advise whether a referral to a public hospital should be considered.
Questions to ask
If a hospital procedure is being arranged or booked, see preparing for surgery for the relevant hospital’s forms, preparation and billing information.
- Does my policy or claim cover the appointment?
- Is pre-approval needed before consultation, imaging or treatment?
- What excess, co-payment or exclusions apply?
- What information does ACC or my insurer need from the clinic?
- Who will invoice me, and what will I need to pay myself?
